Learning a language for quite some time but feeling like you are stuck and not making any progress?
Try some of these tips that can improve your learning experience and results:
Find a good teacher. It may sound obvious, but some people struggle a lot simply because they
learn from the wrong person. It is always better to learn from the person that knows how to teach
than just from a native speaker (but would be great to have both in one!)
Set your goal. It’s always good to know what you are aiming for! Set any goal for yourself: to take
a trip, to succeed at a job interview or even to read your favorite book in its original language!
Use those things that work for you! We are all different: Some memorize quickly with flashcards,
some do it better while writing sentences, and some prefer to use pictures or make diagrams. Use
whatever suits you personally!
Practice, practice, practice! Use every minute of your free time to practice what you know. Talk to
your classmates or yourself, try to understand songs, name the objects around you, follow some
blogger that posts in your target language, or take a quiz.
